When you begin to adopt a more simplistic approach to life, you may notice your stress level decreases, your schedule becomes less hectic, and you may start to appreciate the small things that you missed before because you were always running full speed ahead. Éclipse Apparel encourages simplicity in all aspects of life and offers you an easy way to begin that transition.
A Message From Élise
Dear éclipse Friend,
It began in 2002 with a design for a knuckle-to-shoulder glove designed to protect my hands and arms in sunny Boulder, Colorado. All of my friends seemed to want a pair. Today, éclipse has evolved into a full line of versatile, urban tech clothing and accessories, manufactured sustainably and locally in small batches.
éclipse is about Freedom In Simplicity: paring down, streamlining, divesting your life of things that no longer serve you. This allows more space, mentally and physically, and therefore more freedom.
éclipse is more than an apparel company as we create a larger platform for wellness and wholeness.
Our clothes are made in small batches locally, instead of flooding the market place with a vast excess of cheaply made clothing that goes out of fashion in a season. éclipse focuses on well-made, durable clothing of classic designs that are made to last. By keeping manufacturing local in Colorado, we reduce our carbon footprint, support local jobs, and contribute to our community.
éclipse clothing is made of highest quality 37.5® performance fabric or recycled polyester (rPET), both offering a luxury feel and a flattering design so you can wear éclipse from yoga or skiing to dinner.
As an apparel company, we are aware of the waste that clothing manufacture creates and sensitive to our place and role in the planet’s ecosystem and that’s why we promote thoughtful consumption. Get to know us, and see why éclipse is more than an apparel company.

WHAT IS 37.5?
37.5 Technology is a dynamic thermoregulation technology that triggers off of moisture. For the full story, please visit the manufacturer’s site https://www.thirtysevenfive.com/. Éclipse uses 37.5/Cocona® technology infused in an 87% polyester / 13% Spandex blend fabric.
WHY IS IT CALLED 37.5 Cocona® TECHNOLOGY?
It’s called 37.5 Technology because it helps keep your body at the ideal core temperature of 37.5° Celsius and helps keep the microclimate next to your skin at the ideal relative humidity of 37.5%. And Cocona because a portion of the active particle ingredient is carbon derived from coconut husk.
HOW DOES IT DO THAT?
37.5 Technology triggers off of humidity. Humidity is the gauge for whether you are hot or cold. When you’re hot, active particles embedded into the material use your body’s energy to remove moisture and cool you down. When you’re cold, the active particles retain the body’s energy to warm you up.
BUT HOW DOES IT REALLY WORK?
LET’S GET NERDY… Patented 37.5 technology uses active particles made from volcanic sand and activated carbon from coconut shells that have billions of micropores, massively increasing the surface area of the material. These particles also absorb infrared (IR) light in the spectrum that the human body emits, and this light becomes the energy that powers the particle. If no moisture (sweat vapor) is present, meaning you are cool, the particles retain this energy to warm you. If moisture (sweat vapor) is present, meaning you are hot, the particles use this energy to move moisture out of the clothing system. Without these active particles, water has no reason to leave the microclimate until relative humidity is much higher than is comfortable. Want more? 37.5 active particles also trap odor molecules and then release them when they’re washed and dried. And speaking of washing, because the active particles are permanently embedded in the fiber, they will last the lifetime of the garment. The fabric is knit in Taiwan.
Here’s how it works: When your body heats up, the humidity increases around you. As the humidity and temperature go up, your comfort level goes down. As soon as the 37.5 particles in the fabric are above 37.5 degrees Celsius, these particles go to work transporting moisture vapor against your skin to the outside of the clothing. Removing the moisture decreases the temperature, which in turn, increases your comfort. On the flip side, when your skin temperature is lower than the outside temperature, the 37.5 particles retain your body heat, keeping you warm when it’s cold.
The space-age fabric technology isn’t just for temperature. The 37.5 particles also trap odor molecules, releasing them when washed. Polyester never smelled so good after a workout. The increased surface area of the particles also increases the ultraviolet protection properties of the fabric.
